Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) is free and open source software that can be used for video recording and streaming. It allows you to capture and mix multiple sources including your desktop, record picture-in-picture, or live switch between scenes. It’s also easy to stream to YouTube, Facebook, and other streaming platforms.

In this workshop, you’ll be able to get hands on experience with OBS. You’ll learn how to capture your desktop, microphone, and/or webcam. You’ll also learn how to use picture-in-picture and how to set up a livestream to YouTube.

Please bring a laptop with Open Broadcaster Software or OBS already installed. If your computer does not have a built-in webcam or microphone, please bring an external USB microphone or webcam if you have it. If not, the UCF Library has some USB microphones available to rent and we will have a couple extra webcams available. If you cannot download OBS, we will have a few computers available with the software already loaded. You will walk away from this workshop with at least one video recording. Be ready with some ideas of a video you’d like to record.

Visit the DIY Workshop webpage for more information and to register.

This event is open to UCF staff and faculty.
